The Top Gun Tennis Academy utilizes the Universal Tennis Rating system (UTR) to determine our Top Gun placement.  All players who compete in tournament tennis will have a UTR Rating.  Visit www.myutr.com for more details. 

TOP GUN SELECT - UTR 6 - 12+  Ages 11-18       

TOP GUN - UTR 3 - 5.5  Ages 10-14

Younger dedicated tournament level players with established UTR ratings from 3.0-5.5.  Match play skills, fitness, and enhancing overall competitive skills to compete in tournament play. 

FUTURE STARS SELECT GREEN -  Ages 8-10

Future Stars Select Green are 10 & under Green Ball tournament players.  Focus is on development of match play skills, game style, and enabling movement to Yellow Ball. 

FUTURE STARS SELECT ORANGE - Ages 8-10

Future Stars Select Orange are tournament Level 1 players for 60' Orange Ball.  Children develop their tennis and match play skills to enhance their overall competitive skills. 

ACADEMY PROGRAMS

HIGH SCHOOL CLINICS  -  Ages 14-18

Varsity and JV players who play for high school and lower level tournament play.  Focus is match play drills and competitive situations.

Players are able to rally, serve, and play points with either the Yellow or Green ball.   Stroke development, rallying skills, and enhancing match play abilities.  

MIDDLE SCHOOL GREEN & YELLOW -  Ages 11-14

FUTURE STARS GREEN - Ages 10-12

Players are adept at match play but are looking to develop their overall skills before playing tournaments.  

FUTURE STARS ORANGE - Ages 6-9

Players rally and play points.  Children learn the basics of tennis match play on 60' court with Orange balls.   

FUTURE STARS RED - Ages 6-9

Beginning players develop stroke knowledge, eye-hand coordination and basic tennis skills.  Clinics use the Red low compression ball.   

FUTURE STARS FOAM - Ages 4-5

An introduction to tennis in a FUN setting, focusing on eye-hand coordination, racquet, and ball control.  Clinics use Foam Ball    

Dedicated tournament level players with established UTR ratings from 5.5-12+.  Competitive match play situations developing patterns of play and game style, fitness, and competitive skills to compete on a high level of tournament play. 

TGA Select is the highest level tennis academy in Kentucky.  Since 2014, the TGA Select program has produced 8 different high school state champions, while also having 4 straight players being honored as Kentucky Junior Player of the Year by the USTA.  However, the most noteworthy testament to the program is that in 3 of the last 4 years, TGA Select has developed the Most Improved Player in the state.

The clinic focuses on the competitive side of tennis, using a variety games designed to challenge kids to WIN using many different skills.  It's an opportunity to be surrounded by and play against the highest level players in the state in an intense/fun environment.

The Top Gun Tennis Academy offers a clinic level for junior players of all ages & skills.  Our certified teaching staff will guide each junior player along the TGA Pathway to enhance their skills and enjoyment of tennis.   Top Gun Academy offers an Academy Program for beginning players & school level players, and our Invitational Program for tournament training players of all ages.
